Population Matters wishes to voice our support for the struggle to put race equality into its rightful place, as addressed by the Black Lives Matter movement 

We acknowledge the deep and devastating pain that is unique to the black community.

We share their vision for the essential work of dismantling structural racism.

We therefore pledge to play our part as an organisation by redoubling our efforts to:

• be a voice for racial equality within our sphere of influence
• listen to and amplify the voices of people of colour that we are in touch with from across the world
• promote and celebrate diversity generally, within the population movement and in Population Matters
• continue to refine our understanding of structural racism and work in partnership with others to dismantle it.

Population Matters’ vision is of a future in which the human population coexists in harmony with nature and prospers on a healthy planet, to the benefit of all.
