WalkMyTalk! In October 2025 I will be attempting to walk the Camino de Santiago in Northern Spain. It’s a well trodden Pilgrim’s trail. The part I will walk is known as the Camino Frances and it is about 800km long from the Pyrenees to the town of Santiago in the far West of Spain just above Portugal. The challenge is to do it in 30 days give or take a day or three for age-related aches and pains. Why “Walk my Talk”? It seemed like a good opportunity to use my walk to connect people with an organisation that does important work.
I have a long held belief that human population growth is a problem we simply don’t want to see even if it is staring us in the face. Like the story of the Emperor’s Clothes. And certainly there are many reasons why we might prefer not to see and address it.
Population Matters aims to address the real problem that lies beneath so many of the symptoms of our unsustainable ever expanding global human population. So please check out the work of this organisation. If Sir David Attenborough supports this organisation then maybe his wisdom and contribution to our understanding of the natural world is enough to encourage you to take a look, make a donation towards my fundraising target, and/or subscribe to Population Matters. Thank you.
