We promote positive, practical, ethical solutions – encouraging smaller families, inspiring people to reduce excessive consumption and helping us all to live within our planet’s natural limits. We believe everyone should have the freedom and ability to choose a smaller family and support human rights, women’s empowerment and global justice.

Robin Maynard, Director

Environmental campaigner, writer and strategist. Robin has held senior positions at Friends of the Earth, the Soil Association and the Forestry Commission, and undertaken work for Compassion in World Farming, among many others. He has been director of Population Matters since 2017.

15 years campaigning experience, including at PETA UK, Cruelty Free International and Free Tibet. Alistair joied Population Matters in 2016.

Emma Olliff, board member

Emma undertakes selected media interviews on behalf of Population Matters. Childfree by choice, Emma is a deep ecologist focusing on farming and its future with regards to increasing population and decreasing biodiversity.
